Villa Fauna is located on a lush mountain above the town of San Mateo (1,500 ft up), on the edge of the Central Valley of Costa Rica. Our land offers an incredible sunset view of the Gulf of Nicoya, lovely breezes, and lower temperatures and humidity than many places in Costa Rica.

We are just a few minutes from the hub of 3 major highways, making it easy and convenient for you to navigate the Central Valley (known for it’s perfect spring-like climate, volcanoes, animal sanctuaries, coffee/chocolate tours, cloud forests, & tropical mountain zip-lining) as well as the Pacific Coast for some beach life!. We are only 21 miles from the SJO airport.
